Mammals of the United States
The United States has over 400 native mammal species, from tiny voles to the impressive Grizzly Bear. They occur in all habitats, from desert-adapted Kangaroo-rats, to tundra-dwelling pikas.
Arizona is home to over 140 mammal species, with a great mixture of desert and mountain animals. The far south of the state is also very special for containing very small populations of central American species such as the Jaguar and Ocelot.
