Moths of Dry Sandford Pit NR, Oxfordshire
Dry Sandford Pit is a BBOWT Nature Reserve near Abingdon. It's well known for a population of Scarlet Tiger moths, although I've never been lucky to see them when I've visited! It's also a guaranteed site for Privet Hawkmoths.

Garston Wood is an RSPB reserve in the far north of Dorset, near the village of Sixpenny Handley. It is an ancient broadleaved woodland with hazel coppice and has a superb moth fauna.

Wicken Fen NNR is THE classic moth site in England. It is Britain's oldest National Nature Reserve, and is a remnant of the once extensive fen system in Cambridgeshire, which was drained for agriculture in the early 20th century.

Whites
The whites (Pieridae) comprise some of our most familar butterflies, including the ubiquitous 'Cabbage White', which is actually two similar species - the Small and Large White. This family also contains the delicate Wood White, one of our most threatened butterflies.
